Pune: While the Canal Advisory Committee assured that Pune will not experience water shortages or supply cuts, the reality for residents tells a different story. Water supply timings in several areas have been reduced by up to 90 minutes, and low pressure is hindering water storage in households.
With the summer season approaching, speculation is growing that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has implemented an unannounced water supply cut.
BJP spokesperson Sandeep Khardekar has lodged a complaint with Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale, demanding an immediate fix to the issue.
Affected Areas: Residents in Kothrud, particularly Erandwane, are facing reduced supply and lower water pressure.
Timing Changes: Previously, water was available until 9 AM, but now it is cut off by 8 AM.
Water Shortage at Parvati Plant: Officials confirm that the Parvati Water Treatment Plant is supplying only 3,800 cubic meters per hour instead of the required 4,100 cubic meters.
Khardekar has demanded a public clarification from the PMC Commissioner regarding whether this is an unofficial water supply cut. He has also urged authorities to disclose discussions from the Canal Advisory Committee meeting. If no action is taken, he warned of a large-scale public protest.
