Vaikunth Crematorium Closed Due to Floods: Check Operational Sites Here

Vaikunth, Ghole Road/Kothrud, Manjari crematoriums are closed due to flood situation. Other crematoriums are partially affected.

Pune: The relentless heavy rainfall in the Khadakwasla dam area has led to flooding in several crematoriums within the Pune Municipal Corporation limits.

This situation has caused disruptions in facilities used for last rites. However, alternative crematorium sites with operational facilities such as electric and gas crematoriums are available for use.

Citizens are urged to utilize these alternative crematoriums for performing the last rites of their loved ones. Below is the detailed information on the operational status of various crematoriums across different zones in Pune:

Zone 1

  • Yerawada Crematorium: Electric crematorium operational; A.P.C. closed.

  • Kailas 2 Crematorium: Both electric and shed facilities are operational.

  • Koregaon Park Crematorium: Only the gas crematorium is operational.

  • Wadgaon Sheri Crematorium: Only the gas crematorium is operational.

Zone 2

  • Aundh Crematorium: Only the gas crematorium is operational.

  • Ghole Road/Kothrud Crematorium: Flooded.

Zone 3

  • Dhankawadi Crematorium: Operational.

  • Sinhagad Road Warje Crematorium: Flooded.

Zone 4

  • All crematoriums under the regional offices of Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Kondhwa Yeolewadi, Wanawadi, and Ramtekdi are operational

  • Manjari Crematorium Closed

Zone 5

  • Vaikunth Crematorium under Vishrambaug Wada: Closed.

  • All crematoriums under Bibwewadi and Bhavani Peth regional offices: Operational.
