Pune: A case has been registered against a female dentist, her colleague, and an employee for operating diagnostic machines without proper training, risking the health and safety of patients. The case was filed at the Airport Police Station by the husband of the accused dentist, Dr. Amit Kasturilal Luthra, who owns the diagnostic center where the incident occurred.
The accused include Swapnil Devrukhkar (32, resident of Vishrantwadi), along with the dentist and her colleague. The case has been registered under Sections 125, 351(2), 324(2), and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to Dr. Luthra’s complaint, he owns a diagnostic center named Lifeberries Healthcare located in Viman Nagar, Pune. The center is equipped with advanced diagnostic machines such as Brivo XR, Electronics Imaging System, and Vita Flex CR System, which require specialized training and a license from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board of India to operate.
On December 2, Dr. Luthra visited the center at Viman Nagar and discovered that his wife, her colleague, and an employee, Swapnil Devrukhkar, were operating the X-ray machines to examine patients. None of them had the necessary training or license to handle the equipment. When questioned about their actions, they reportedly left the scene without providing any explanation.
Upon further inspection of the equipment, Dr. Luthra found that a password had been set on the system. He alleged that unauthorized operation of the machines not only violated regulations but also posed a serious threat to the lives of patients.
The police have initiated an investigation under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ajay Sankeshwari. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
