Viman Nagar: Thieves Break Into Businessman’s Car, Steal ₹10.51 Lakh

Nitesh Kumar Rajkumar Shah (34) had traveled to Pune for work and parked his car near Vatika Society in Viman Nagar. Thieves broke into his car and fled with ₹10.51 lakh in cash.

Pune witnessed two significant theft incidents over the weekend, with thieves targeting both a parked car and a locked flat, collectively stealing ₹14.41 lakh in cash and valuables.

₹10.51 Lakh Stolen from Parked Car in Viman Nagar

A businessman from Mumbai, Nitesh Kumar Rajkumar Shah (34), fell victim to theft when thieves broke into his car and fled with ₹10.51 lakh in cash. Shah had traveled to Pune for work and parked his car near Vatika Society in Viman Nagar on Sunday night.

Unidentified individuals broke the car’s window and stole a bag containing cash. The Airport Police Station has registered a case, and Police Sub-Inspector Ravindra Dhaware is leading the investigation.

This incident is part of a rising trend of thefts involving car break-ins across the city. A similar case was recently reported in Hadapsar, where thieves broke the windows of two cars and stole cash and jewelry.

House Break-In in Aundh; ₹3.90 Lakh Stolen

In another incident, thieves targeted a locked flat in a society near Sanewadi, Ozone Mall, Aundh, and stole valuables worth ₹3.90 lakh. A 75-year-old senior citizen filed a complaint at the Chatuhshrungi Police Station.

The complainant had left the house on Sunday evening after locking it. The theft was discovered on Monday night when the complainant returned to find the lock broken and valuables, including cash and jewelry, missing.
