Pune: A woman caused a public disturbance at Jagtap Chowk in Wanawadi while in an intoxicated state, leading to a massive crowd gathering and traffic disruption. The incident, captured on mobile cameras by bystanders, has sparked demands for stricter law enforcement.

According to eyewitness accounts, the woman was misbehaving publicly, creating chaos in the area. Initial reports suggest she was returning from a well-known pub near Pune Station when she began causing a scene on the road. Her actions left local residents distressed and inconvenienced.

Upon being informed of the situation, RTI activist Lalit Sasane quickly contacted the Wanawadi police station, urging immediate intervention. He stressed the importance of maintaining public order and preventing similar incidents in the future. "Such actions disrupt public spaces and must be controlled to avoid inconvenience to citizens," Sasane stated.

Local residents have expressed their frustration and insist that police take swift action against such behavior. Many believe stricter laws are needed to prevent public misconduct. One eyewitness recounted, “The entire chowk was in turmoil due to the woman’s behavior. Traffic was disrupted, and people were inconvenienced. The police should ensure such incidents don’t happen again.”

Despite the outcry, the Wanawadi police have yet to take concrete action in the case. Sources indicate that an investigation is ongoing, but local residents and activists are urging for immediate legal steps.

This incident has once again highlighted concerns over public safety and discipline, particularly regarding individuals leaving pubs and bars in an intoxicated state. Citizens and activists are calling for stricter measures, including increased patrolling and better security in public spaces.
