The suspect, identified as Sachin Chandar Bhosale, attempted to evade arrest by assaulting Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dr. Shivaji Pawar and Assistant Police Inspector (API) Prasanna Jarhad from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad police team had laid an ambush around 12:15 AM to apprehend Sachin Bhosale and Mithun Bhosale, both residents of Kharatwadi, Shrigonda, Ahmednagar district. As the officers moved in, Sachin Bhosale brandished a machete and attempted to fatally attack DCP Pawar and API Jarhad.
