PUNE: The Pune airport authority has decided to allot slots given to Jet Airways to other airlines after Jet Airways shut its services from April 17 this year. The authority has announced starting of a new direct Bhopal-Pune-Bhopal flight from May 30 to July 31. This is the sixth service started on a vacant slot of Jet Airways.

As per details provided by Pune airport director Ajay Kumar, “Air India will start the flight between Pune and Bhopal. It will be connected to Delhi also. The Air India flight number AI 0481 will depart from Bhopal at 10.45 am and arrive in Pune at 12.05 pm. Similarly, flight number AI 0482 will depart from Pune at 12.35 pm and arrive in Bhopal at 2 pm. The flight will operate six days a week except for Saturday, due to the closure of the runway.”

This new flight will connect Delhi also. Those who want to travel from Pune to Delhi can also use this flight, said a senior official. Two years ago, Air India had announced the same flight from Pune to Bhopal to Raipur. But due to non-availability of passengers, the service was suspended.

In April, SpiceJet, Indigo and Air Asia announced starting of flight operations for Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Delhi. Besides, Go Air also announced a new flight from Pune to Delhi. All these flight slots belonged to Jet Airways earlier.
