Pune, 28 June 2025: The Pune Sessions Court has begun the process of framing charges in the high-profile Porsche accident case, where police allege that blood samples of the minor accused and his friends were deliberately tampered with at Sassoon General Hospital to destroy evidence. Ten people are facing charges in this matter, and the proceedings began on Friday (June 27).

Last year on the night of May 18 in Kalyaninagar, a speeding Porsche car fatally hit a young man and woman riding a two-wheeler. It was later found that the vehicle was being driven by a minor, accompanied by two underage friends. Before the accident, the trio had reportedly consumed alcohol at two pubs in Mundhwa. Blood samples were sent to Sassoon Hospital for testing, but the police now claim those samples were switched to protect the accused.

According to the investigation, the minor’s father Vishal Agarwal, his mother Shivani Agarwal, and Arun Kumar Singh allegedly conspired with Ashpak Makandar, Amar Gaikwad, Aditya Sood, and Ashish Mittal. With help from Sassoon hospital staffer Atul Ghatakamble, they are accused of orchestrating the tampering. The probe also revealed the involvement of then head of the forensic department Dr. Ajay Tawre and then chief emergency medical officer Dr. Shrihari Halnor.

Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hire presented a detailed argument lasting four and a half hours, submitting technical and audiovisual evidence like witness statements, CCTV footage, call detail records, WhatsApp chats, DNA reports, identification parades, handwriting analysis, and Rs 3 lakh in seized cash to establish the alleged conspiracy.

The defence will present its arguments on July 2. Following that, the court will take a decision on framing charges against the accused. Meanwhile, accused Ashpak Makandar has filed for discharge from the case, and Ashish Mittal has filed a separate plea seeking access to certain documents.

Key Highlights:

  • Allegation of blood sample tampering to destroy evidence after the accident

  • Detailed argument by prosecution based on technical and forensic evidence

  • Investigation reveals a well-planned conspiracy involving hospital staff and family members

  • Defence to argue on July 2; a crucial court decision expected afterward.
