Pune, 11 July 2025: In a shocking and tragic incident, two individuals, a minor girl and a young man, were found dead near the Khadakwasla dam area in Pune. The duo reportedly died by suicide after consuming poison simultaneously in a forested area close to the dam.
According to preliminary information, the deceased girl was just 16 years old. Her family had recently lodged a missing person’s complaint at the Wanowrie Police Station. The discovery of the two bodies was made by locals in the vicinity, who immediately alerted the authorities. Upon identification, it was confirmed that one of the deceased was the missing minor girl.
Alongside her body, the police also recovered the body of a young man. Initial investigation suggests that he too died after ingesting poison. The exact relationship between the two remains unclear at this stage, and officials are currently working to establish the circumstances leading to this tragic end.
No suicide note has been found at the scene. However, a container believed to have held the poison was discovered near the bodies. Police suspect a planned act, as both individuals consumed the poison at the same location and seemingly at the same time.
The Uttamnagar Police have taken over the case and are conducting further investigation to uncover the motive and background of this incident. The lack of a note and the involvement of a minor have added complexity to the probe, which is being treated with utmost sensitivity.
