Duo robs cellphone, assaults 31-year-old man in Khadki

Pune: A 31-year-old man was robbed and assaulted by two persons on Saturday night in Khadki. A case in this regard was registered at Khadki police station.

According to the complainant, the accused were calling themselves by the names Pinto and Manish alias Maharaj, which is the possible identity of the accused. The incident occurred at 8 pm on a road near Old Holkar Bridge in the jurisdiction of Khadki police station.

According to officials of the Khadki police, the incident occurred while the complainant was walking in front of Mehsoba Temple. While he was walking down the road, he was approached by one of the accused, who requested him for his cell phone in order to make a phone call.

The moment the complainant handed over his cellphone, the accused started moving inside a lane next to the temple with it. The complainant followed him, but he was taken by surprise and attacked by the other accused on his head.

Both the accused snatched away cash and the cellphone from the complainant before assaulting him using a stone. The police are currently on the look-out for the two accused.
