The latest documents of the Jeffrey Epstein files released by the United States Department of Justice on Friday has revealed private email exchanges between him and Boris Nikolic, a former adviser to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The release includes more than three million pages of documents and thousands of images.
Among the material are emails sent by Nikolic to Jeffrey Epstein in June 2012, when Nikolic was travelling through India. In these messages, Nikolic expressed strong displeasure about his stay in Pune, using dismissive language to describe the city.
In one email dated June 1, 2012, Nikolic wrote that Pune was “not my favourite place” and added, “You would HATE it… in the middle of nowhere, Pune India.” In a follow-up message sent hours later, he described the city as “so filthy,” saying he had “refused to leave my hotel for the last two days.”
Epstein replied briefly to the exchange with a single word: “strong.”
Nikolic later complained about travel delays, saying his flight from Pune had been delayed, leaving him stranded in New Delhi. In that message, he reiterated his frustration, writing, “I HATE this place. Even thinking that I must now spend an additional night makes me sick.”
Nikolic, who was once described by the New York Times as part of Bill Gates’ inner circle, was travelling across India and China at the time. The emails show his apology to Epstein for delayed communication, citing a hectic travel schedule.
Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died by suicide in prison in 2019. The latest document release has once again brought scrutiny to his private correspondence and the individuals connected to him.
