Green conclave to be held today

PUNE: The Environment Club of India, in association with Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Pune Smart City, National Green Tribunal (NGT), Western Zone Bench and Vanarai, has organised a national conference on ‘Recent Techno-Legal Strategies for Tidy Environment’, on Saturday at MCCIA, Senapati Bapat Road at 10 am.

Former chairperson of National Green Tribunaland former SC judge Swatantra Kumar will inaugurate the conference. The conference will deliberate on topics including solid waste management - rescue and minimisation of water strategies, municipal solid waste - problem and solutions, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board’s role in achieving zero discharge strategies and recent techniques for reuse and recycling of industrial effluents.

Dr P Anbalagan, member secretary, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, RR Deshpande, Joint Managing Director, Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, Hanumant Gaikwad, Founder-President, Bharat Vikas Group and Rajendra Jagtap, Additional Commissioner, Pune Smart City, will be present at the function.
