Pune, 2nd May 2026: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has declared the Class 12 (HSC) results for the February–March 2026 examinations, with Pune division emerging as one of the better-performing regions in the state.
In Pune, the pass percentage stood at 91.25%, higher than the overall state average of 89.79%. Across Maharashtra, 14,33,057 students appeared for the exam, out of which 12,86,843 students passed. However, the overall result has declined by 2.09 percentage points compared to 2025.
While Pune maintained a strong performance, Konkan division recorded the highest pass percentage in the state at 94.14%. On the other hand, Latur reported the lowest result at 84.14%.
Other divisions showed moderate results, including Mumbai (90.08%), Amravati (90.92%), Nashik (90.72%), Kolhapur (89.97%), Nagpur (88.67%), and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (88.68%).
Gender-wise, girls once again outperformed boys. The pass percentage among girls stood at 93.15%, compared to 86.80% for boys, marking a gap of 6.35 percentage points.
Among repeater students, 50,346 appeared for the exam and 18,349 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 36.44%. Private candidates recorded a pass percentage of 80.21%, with 29,634 students clearing the exam out of 36,941 who appeared.
The board also reported that 8,367 differently-abled students appeared for the exam, of which 7,579 passed, achieving a pass percentage of 90.58%.
Board chairman Trigun Kulkarni announced the results at a press conference, stating that students will be able to access their results online after 1 PM on the official website.
