Pune: New allegations have surfaced in the Ketan Agarwal murder case after the driver who transported Ketan Agarwal, his fiancée Siya Goyal, and their siblings to Mumbai International Airport for a planned trip to Bali disclosed details of the journey to the media. His statement has also sparked renewed speculation about Ketan’s missing passport.

Addressing the media, driver Vaibhav Jadhav stated that he had been engaged through a travel agency to drive Siya Goyal, her brother Sahil, Ketan Agarwal, and Ketan’s sister Sanjana to Mumbai airport for their pre-wedding vacation in Bali, Indonesia.

Argument Between Sahil & Siya?

Jadhav stated that when he arrived at the Goyal family’s home in Bibwewadi, an argument between Siya and her brother was already underway. He added that the dispute persisted during the entire drive until they reached Ketan’s residence in Gahunje. He recounted that after Ketan and his sister got into the vehicle, they requested him to play some music. Later, the group halted at a food mall along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway for tea and refreshments.

Siya Returned To Vehicle Alone…

Jadhav asserted that while the rest of the group remained inside the food mall, Siya came back to the vehicle by herself. He stated that he observed her take something out of a bag, put it into her pocket, and then leave.

After dropping the four passengers at Mumbai airport, Jadhav said he got a call from Ketan, who informed him that something had been forgotten in the vehicle. He went back to the airport, where Ketan and Sahil used a mobile phone flashlight to look through the car but were unable to locate the missing object. Jadhav then proceeded to his next booking.

Based on Jadhav’s statement, some media reports have speculated that Siya may have disposed of Ketan’s passport at the food mall. However, police have not officially confirmed this claim.

Meanwhile, Siya Goyal’s mother, Pooja Goyal, told the media that if her daughter is proven guilty in the case, she should receive the most severe punishment. She further mentioned that Siya had little interest in academics and used to bake cakes at home and sell them.

Role Of Matchmakers Under Scrutiny…

The case has also cast a spotlight on the role of the matchmakers. According to police sources, Narendra Mittal and Renu Mittal, who facilitated the marriage proposal, have been interrogated. Ketan’s father has alleged that the pair vigorously endorsed the match even though they were supposedly aware of multiple details about Siya.

Another assertion being reported in some media outlets is that Siya allegedly received Rs 1 crore from Ketan for wedding-related shopping and then passed the money to her purported boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary. Siya’s legal team, however, has stated that they have no knowledge of any such accusation and that no related matter has been brought before the court.

What’s The Mahabaleshwar Angle?

Police sources cited in media reports state that Ketan and Siya were set to wed in November following their engagement in February. Investigators suspect that Ketan had arranged a birthday celebration and overnight stay at a luxury hotel in Mahabaleshwar for Siya’s birthday on June 19.

Investigators believe Siya sought to avoid living with Ketan and allegedly chose to kill him at Lohagad Fort a day earlier, with assistance from co-accused Chetan Chaudhary. This claim remains under police investigation.

Justifying the investigation, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill stated that officers examined the matter for nearly 30 hours before filing a murder charge. He noted that although the death was first classified as accidental, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary were taken into custody only after investigators obtained what they termed compelling evidence. Gill further dismissed claims that the arrests were carried out without adequate proof.
