Pune: Officials of the Pune Zilla Parishad on Wednesday inaugurated the much-needed lactation room (Hirkani Kaksh) at first floor of the new Zilla Parishad (ZP) building. 

The lactation room will now help women in breastfeeding their babies. A press note issued by the ZPO stated that as there was no lactation room and the women visiting the ZPO with their babies had to breastfeed their kids in open which would cause a problem to them.

“To solve the issue, it was decided to allocate separate space for the lactation centre. The room is 143 square feet in size and has a seating arrangement for six women at a time. It also has good ventilation facility.” 
The press release stated that ZPO CEO Suraj Mandhare has appealed to his staff to pay special attention to women coming with their kids at the ZPO for their work.
