Land acquisition for Purandar Airport to start soon: Shivtare

Sakal Times

Pune: The Minister of State for Water Resources and Water Conservation, Vijay Shivtare, said on Saturday that the process of acquiring land for the proposed Purandar airport will begin in a week’s time as the necessary approvals for the same have been received.

"Around 70% land required for it has been duly acquired. We want to assure the locals and farmers that the land acquisition will follow due process and will only benefit them," he said.

In the press meeting, he also spoke about the Gunjavane Dam project. He said, “The Gunjavane dam will serve an area of almost 28,000 hectares. When we took over the project, it was only 8% completed. Within a short span, we have completed it."

He also said that the Phursungi and Uruli Devachi water pipeline projects are on their way to completion.
