Pune, 18 July 2025: Pune’s law and order situation has come under sharp scrutiny after two alarming incidents unfolded in Sahakarnagar. A day after a group of young men and women preparing for police recruitment were assaulted by local wrestlers, a second shocking event occurred when a known criminal vandalized the Sahakarnagar Police Station.

According to police sources, the accused, Raju alias Barkya Londhe, known for his criminal activities in the Sahakarnagar area, was arrested during a routine combing operation. However, while in custody at the police station, Londhe flew into a rage and went on a destructive spree. He smashed windowpanes and damaged computer systems inside the station, creating chaos and drawing widespread concern from law enforcement circles.

The brazen nature of the act, committed inside a police station, has raised questions about the preparedness and authority of the city police. Senior officials, including the Police Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, are being criticized for failing to ensure basic safety and control within their own premises.

This incident follows closely on the heels of another episode in the same locality, where several police job aspirants were attacked by local wrestlers. These back-to-back events have left the public questioning the city’s governance and security apparatus.

In the wake of these developments, residents and observers are expressing serious concerns: “If even the police stations are not safe anymore, where should the common citizen turn to for justice?”

Investigations into both incidents are currently underway.
