Maharashtra Police Force One wins laurels at contest

PUNE: Maharashtra Police Force One team emerged as the overall winner of the 10th All India Police Commando Competition (AIPCC) that was held at the State Reserve Police Force (SRFC) ground in Wanawadi. The competition concluded on Saturday (December 21).

AIPCC is held every year for sportspersons from the services and paramilitary to compete in.

15 State police and 7 Central paramilitary forces participated including 105 officers from different services and 839 sportsmen from services in the competition held from December 11 to December 21. The competitions included running, sniper firing and other combat events. 

Around 10 trophies and 72 medals were given away to winners in different categories. The closing ceremony event was attended by Director General of Police Subodh Kumar Jaiswal and Pune Police Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham. 

Jaiswal, in his speech, said, “To prevent any terror mishap, we provide training to the commandos and therefore, such competitions are organised.”
