Pune, 8th November 2025: The controversial registration of nearly 40 acres of government land in Pune’s Mundhwa area, valued at around ₹1,800 crore, has been cancelled. The move comes amid claims of unusually low stamp duty being charged during the process.

Following the cancellation, representatives of Amedia Company visited the Sub-Registrar’s Office in Pune. Officials informed them through a notice that to regularise and cancel the deal under law, a total of 14% stamp duty, 7% for validation and 7% for cancellation, amounting to ₹42 crore, would have to be paid. They said the transaction could not be reversed on the basis of only ₹30,500 stamp duty already paid.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar responded to the issue, saying he was unaware of the land deal or the alleged involvement of his son, Parth Pawar. He said he has always worked within legal boundaries throughout his 35-year political career and no allegation against him has ever been proven.

Pawar said he immediately spoke to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging him to take appropriate action. He added that no money had exchanged hands despite figures being discussed in public. He also stated that he would not defend anyone in his family if found guilty.

A committee headed by the Additional Chief Secretary has been formed to examine the matter in detail, and its report is expected within a month.

Pawar reiterated that government officials should not work under pressure and warned against misuse of his name. He said that even if the case concerns someone close to him, decisions must strictly follow rules.
