PUNE: App-based aggregator cab service provider Uber has announced its intercity connection from Pune to more than 50 destinations.
City commuters can book a cab and travel to nearby destinations, said Krishna Veer Singh, Head of West, India Ridesharing.
While interacting with mediapersons on Wednesday, Singh said, “We have started the facility from Wednesday to over 50 destinations from Pune. It includes Lavasa, Lonavla, Mahabaleshwar, Bhimashankar, Daund, Nashik and other places near the city. Currently, Uber Intercity covers a total of 50+ destinations across Maharashtra. The fare will be dynamic with the availability of cabs and commuters will have to pay their toll.”
Singh also said that the company plans to further ease travel for Pune residents by targeting double-digit growth in its UberAUTO business.
“Uber auto was launched in 2018 in Pune and is one of the first Indian cities to have this service. Convenient pick-up options, hassle-free rides and digital payment options have made UberAUTO a popular travel option for commuters in the city,” he said.
“With a deep understanding of the region and commuters’ travel needs, Uber, with its flagship products, has successfully empowered riders with reliable and affordable travel options at the tap of a button as well as empowered driver-partners with flexible earning opportunities,” added Singh.
