Pimpri: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has decided to construct a new administrative building near its present headquarter premises.

The new building will be constructed at a reserved plot near Mahindra company at Kharalwadi-Gandhinagar. The construction is expected to cost Rs 250 crore.

The present four-storeyed structure of the municipal corporation was constructed in 1987. The building was expanded eight years back. The new administrative building has been planned as the present premises are found to be inadequate for various departments of the civic body.

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC)’s present building has inadequate parking space for vehicles of its office-bearers, officials, staff and visitors.

The municipal corporation’s standing committee has approved the proposal for construction of the new administrative building,. The new The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation building will be connected to the present headquarters by a skywalk facility.
