Pune, 9 July 2025: In a move to enhance Pune’s public transport infrastructure, PMPML has proposed a dedicated bus terminal and parking facility at the upcoming Hadapsar Railway Station. On July 8, 2025, PMPML Chairperson and Managing Director, Mrs. Deepa Mudhol-Munde (IAS), conducted a site inspection at Hadapsar Railway Station. The visit was focused on evaluating the feasibility of allocating space for PMPML’s planned terminal and parking area within the railway development zone. The goal is to facilitate easy access to PMPML bus services directly from the railway premises.

The railways are currently planning a new terminal at Hadapsar, and PMPML has formally submitted a request to include bus infrastructure in the project layout. The integration is expected to significantly improve multi-modal transport and reduce reliance on private vehicles by offering a reliable public transport option at the station itself.

Presently, PMPML’s Shuttle Bus Route No. 156 connects Hadapsar Gadital to Hadapsar Railway Station. Other routes like 160, 168, and 169 also have stops nearby. However, challenges such as narrow access roads have created bottlenecks. PMPML is actively coordinating with the railway administration to resolve these issues for smoother bus movement.

The inspection was attended by key officials including PMPML Chief Transport Manager (Operations) Satish Gawhane, Hadapsar Depot Manager Sameer Atar, and senior railway officials Sanjay Lohatre, Saxena, and Sontakke. “Our priority is to improve facilities for passengers and expand PMPML’s direct services from the station to major areas across Pune,” said Mudhol-Munde.
