Poona Merchants' Chamber opens counters for Laddoo-Chiwda sale

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: The Poona Merchants' Chamber started its annual 'Bundi Laddoo' and 'Chiwda' sale on a 'no profit no loss' basis on the occasion of Diwali on Saturday at its nine counters across the city.

The price of one kg Bundi Laddoo and one kg Chiwda is Rs 105 each. The laddoo is cheaper by Rs 15 this year due to lower prices of chana dal than last year.

Cooperative Minister Subhash Deshmukh inaugurated the sale of Laddoo and Chiwda in the presence of MP Anil Shirole and Mayor Mukta Tilak.

This is the 30th year of this initiative, which makes Diwali of the common man sweeter. The counters for selling of Laddoo-Chiwda are located at Vyapar Bhavan in Market Yard, Oswal Bandhu Samaj Karyalaya on Shankarsheth Road, Jayashree Oil and Sugar Depot in Kothrud, Jagdish Trading Company in Hadapsar, Agarwal Products in Karve Nagar, Narendra Electricals on Tilak Road, Bhagat Traders on Sinhagad Road, Azad Mitra Mandal near Pushp Mangal Karyalaya on Bibvewadi and the Poona Wholesale Grain and Grocery Merchants Association in Bhawani Peth.
