Pune, 15th May 2026: Railway authorities have announced major changes in train operations due to ongoing doubling work on the Daund-Manmad railway section. Pre-NI and non-interlocking blocks are being undertaken between the Akolner, Ahilyanagar and Nimbalk sections under the Pune railway division, affecting several important trains between May 15 and 19.
As a result, multiple trains have either been diverted, delayed or cancelled during the period. Railway officials have appealed to passengers to verify revised schedules and routes before starting their journey.
The Pune-Amravati Express (Train No. 11025/11026) will run on a diverted route during the block period.
Train No. 11025 Pune-Amravati Express departing from Pune on May 16, 17 and 18 will operate via Daund, Kurduwadi, Latur Road, Parbhani, Purna and Akola before reaching Amravati instead of its regular route.
Similarly, Train No. 11026 Amravati-Pune Express departing from Amravati on May 15, 16 and 17 will travel through Akola, Purna, Parbhani, Latur Road, Kurduwadi and Daund before arriving in Pune.
Train No. 22140 Ajni-Pune Express departing on May 17 will also run on a changed route via Manmad, Nashik Road, Kalyan, Panvel, Karjat and Lonavala before reaching Pune.
Apart from this, the Nizamabad-Pune Express operating on May 15, 16 and 17 has been diverted via Janakpeta, Purna, Parbhani, Latur Road, Kurduwadi and Daund. The Daund-Nizamabad Express running on May 16 and 17 will follow the reverse diverted route.
Several long-distance trains including the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Yeshwantpur Express, Jammu Tawi-Pune Express, Pune-Gorakhpur Express, Yeshwantpur-Chandigarh Express, Pune-Hatia Express, Banaras-Hadapsar Express and Hadapsar-Banaras Express will also operate through the Pune-Lonavala-Karjat-Panvel-Igatpuri-Nashik Road-Manmad corridor on selected dates.
Railway officials said operational changes are necessary to complete the doubling work safely and improve rail infrastructure. However, the diversions and delays are expected to cause inconvenience to passengers over the next few days.
