Pune, 30 April 2026: An Assistant Police Inspector has been suspended for remaining absent from duty without informing his seniors while posted at the city police control room. The action was taken by Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar.
The suspended officer has been identified as Abhijit Prabhakar Jadhav. He was assigned duty at the police control room on March 31, scheduled from 4 PM to midnight as the control room officer. However, he failed to report for duty without any prior notice to his superiors.
The police control room functions as a central monitoring unit, tracking all developments across the city round-the-clock. Jadhav’s absence led to delays in reporting key incidents to senior officials, affecting operational efficiency.
Officials also revealed that this was not the first instance of such misconduct. Jadhav had previously remained absent without prior intimation and had been warned by senior officers.
Taking serious note of the repeated negligence, the Police Commissioner ordered his suspension from service.
