Pune Covid News: Pune has the highest number of corona patients

Pune Corona Update: Representatives of 'NIV' said that the current virus has been revealed through genetic sequencing to be mild. Commissioner gave instructions to take proper care of the elderly and patients with comorbidities

Pune, 10th June 2025: The risk of corona has increased in the state and a total of 65 new patients have been registered on Monday. Out of these, the maximum number of patients has been found in the Pune Municipal Corporation area (26), Mumbai (22) and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (4). Currently, there are 613 active patients in the state.

So far, 17,292 corona tests have been conducted across the state, out of which 1,504 patients have been found infected. Of these, 873 patients have fully recovered and returned home, taking the recovery rate to 58.04 percent.

The strain in corona patients is mild. The scientists of the National Institute of Virology (NIV) have informed the Municipal Corporation that the current modified virus (strain) of corona is very mild. Since then, those who have comorbidities are showing some symptoms.

A meeting of experts was organized under the chairmanship of Pune Municipal Corporation Commissioner Naval Kishor Ram regarding the increasing spread of corona.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of Health Dr. Radhakishan Pawar, Chief of Health Dr. Nina Borade, representatives of NIV and National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), and members of the Corona Task Force.

At this time, the representatives of NIV said that the current virus is mild and has been revealed through genetic sequencing. Accordingly, the Commissioner gave instructions to take proper care of elderly and patients with comorbidities

Recently traces of Corona Virus were found in the sewage water in the tests conducted by the National Chemical Laboratory.
