Pune, 2nd May 2026: A horrific incident has shaken a small village in Bhor taluka, where a three-and-a-half-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and brutally murdered. The victim had recently arrived at her grandmother's house to spend her holidays. The tragedy occurred on a quiet afternoon while she was playing in the area outside the home.

According to reports, the accused lured the child away from her play area and took her to a nearby cattle shed. There, he committed the assault before killing her. The brutality of the crime has left the local community in a state of shock and mourning, as the news of the minor death spread through the village.

When the family realized the girl was missing, they began a search with the help of neighbors. Their search led them to review local CCTV footage, which captured the girl walking toward an isolated area with the suspect. Following this lead, the family searched the indicated area and discovered her body hidden inside the cattle shed.

Furious residents immediately launched a manhunt and caught the suspect near the village river. Although he initially denied any involvement when confronted by the mob, the police arrived shortly after to take him into custody. The suspect's denial only further fueled the anger of the gathering crowd.

The situation quickly escalated as hundreds of villagers gathered at the scene, refusing to let the police remove the body for an autopsy. They demanded that the authorities hand the man over to the public so they could deliver their own form of justice. The police had to navigate a highly volatile environment to maintain order while securing the evidence.

The tension eventually spilled over onto the Pune-Satara highway, where the angry crowd staged a 'Rasta Roko' protest. For nearly 45 minutes, traffic was brought to a complete standstill as protesters demanded the strictest possible punishment. The mob eventually dispersed after further police intervention.
