Pune, 28 April 2026: In a shocking case, illegal cannabis cultivation was discovered inside the premises of a bungalow in Lohgaon’s Pathare Vasti area. Acting on a tip-off, Lohgaon police raided the property and seized cannabis plants, a vehicle, and multiple mobile phones collectively valued at over ₹6 lakh.

The operation was carried out after police personnel received reliable information about ongoing cannabis cultivation at the location. Following instructions from senior officials, a team conducted a raid on Monday and uncovered the illegal activity inside a rented bungalow.

During the search, police found 41 cannabis plants of varying sizes growing in the garden area. The total weight of the seized plants was approximately 4.5 kilograms. Cannabis was also recovered from a vehicle used by the accused.

The accused, identified as 30-year-old Harsh Bharatkumar Panchal, had reportedly rented the bungalow where the cultivation was taking place. In addition to the plants, nine mobile phones were seized from the spot.

A case has been registered against Panchal, and further investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of the operation and possible links.
