Pune Crime: Sex Racket Busted in Narhe; Four Women Rescued, Three Arrested

Police raid lodge in Narhegaon following tip-off about forced prostitution; Case registered under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, investigation ongoing

Pune, 6th April 2026: Police busted a sex racket in the Narhegaon following a targeted operation amid rising concerns over illegal human trafficking and prostitution in the city and its outskirts.

Acting on specific information, the police conducted a raid near a prominent college, where the racket was allegedly being operated.

A team from the Crime Branch conducted a raid at a lodge in Narhegaon after receiving credible information about women being forced into prostitution. To verify the input, police deployed a decoy customer and laid a trap before carrying out the surprise raid.

During the operation, four young women were rescued from the lodge. According to police officials, the victims had been brought there and were being exploited for immoral activities.

Three accused, Abhishek Dilip Gawali (24, from Khed Shivapur), Ramu Sandu Devkar (24, from Sinhagad Road, Pune), and Mahesh Ganesh Nagne (34, from Nandegaon, Pune), have been arrested in connection with the case.

A case has been registered at Narhegaon Police Station under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Further investigation is currently underway.
