Pune Crime: Woman Allegedly Raped in Moving Car After Hotel Party in Koregaon Park

Pune, 18th May 2026: A disturbing case of alleged rape inside a moving car has emerged from the Koregaon Park area, raising concerns about women’s safety in the city. The incident is said to have occurred on the Mundhwa–Koregaon Park Road following a late-night party at a hotel.

According to police information, the victim, who is a lawyer by profession, had attended a party at a hotel around midnight. During the event, she came in contact with the accused, who had also arrived at the party. The two were previously unknown to each other.

After the party ended, the man offered to drop the woman home. Trusting him, she agreed and got into his car. However, police said the accused allegedly sexually assaulted her while the vehicle was on the move midway through the journey.

Following the incident, the woman approached the police and lodged a complaint at Koregaon Park Police Station. A case has been registered, and further investigation is currently underway.

The incident has once again sparked concerns regarding women’s safety in Pune, especially in popular nightlife areas such as Koregaon Park.
