For a number of months, residents of Kondhwa have been expressing worries about extensive illegal constructions being erected without proper approvals. Many buildings were constructed on small plots, often violating zoning laws, and were later sold with forged documents. Officials mentioned that these activities have led to considerable fraud and financial damage to unsuspecting homebuyers.

The PMC's Building Department conducted the demolition operation with the assistance of six labourers, five police officers, a JCB, four breakers, two gas cutters, five junior engineers, and two assistant engineers. Following the procedure, the civic authority cautioned that the demolished structures were hazardous and should not be occupied.

PMC authorities stated that the campaign against unauthorized buildings will persist throughout Pune. They also urged residents to check building permits and purchase properties solely from officially sanctioned and licensed developments to prevent fraud and financial jeopardy.
