Pune: Pedestrian Killed After Hit by Luxury Bus on Katraj-Kondhwa Road

Pune Accident: 35-year-old daily wage worker Arjun Mhaske dies after accident near Pisoli; driver booked for negligence

Pune, 17 April 2026: A 35-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a private luxury bus on the Katraj-Kondhwa Road near Pisoli on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Arjun Mhaske, a resident of Katraj.

The incident took place around 1 pm when Mhaske was crossing the road. According to police, the bus driver allegedly failed to notice him during a turn, leading to the accident.

Sub-inspector Anil Nimbalkar from Kalepadal police station said, “The bus was heading towards Phursungi and took a right turn when its rear portion hit Mhaske. He fell on the road and was seriously injured.”

Passersby rushed to help and immediately shifted him to Sassoon General Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead during treatment.

Police have registered a case against the bus driver for rash and negligent driving, along with causing death due to negligence. Further investigation is underway.
