Pune: Police Arrested Two in Separate Incidences For Harassment of Women and Schoolgirl

Police book both accused after cases of harassment in Nanded City and Vishrantwadi; CCTV footage helps identify one suspect.

Pune, 4th November 2025: Two shocking incidences of sexual harassment against a woman and a minor girl have come to light in Pune. Police have registered offences in both incidents and taken action against the accused.

In the first case, a young woman was harassed while walking near the Nanded City area on Sinhagad Road. According to police, the woman had gone out for a walk after dinner when a man sitting on a roadside bench began following her.

After a short distance, he allegedly grabbed her hand and behaved inappropriately. The woman shouted for help, prompting the man to flee the spot. A case has been registered at the Nanded City Police Station, and investigators are tracing the suspect using CCTV footage from the area.

In another disturbing incident in Vishrantwadi, a 50-year-old man misbehaved with a schoolgirl under the pretext of taking her for a bike ride. After the incident, the girl’s mother immediately approached the police and filed a complaint. Acting on the report, police arrested the accused, identified as Shriram Alhat, a resident of Kalas.

Both cases have sparked public outrage, with citizens demanding strict punishment for the offenders. Police have assured that a thorough investigation is underway and firm action will be taken against those involved.
