In another twist, Pune Police have issued guidelines restricting songs that glorify alcohol and drugs at Yo Yo Honey Singh’s rescheduled Pune concert on April 18, which was postponed from April 4 due to forecasted rain and thunderstorms.
Officials have stated that the rapper will be barred from performing any songs that endorse alcohol, drugs, or weapons at the concert. The order follows objections from district child protection officer Mangesh Jadhav, who argued that some of Honey Singh’s tracks glorify substance abuse and gun culture, potentially harming children’s impressionable minds.
Clarifying his position, he stated, "We intervene where any event is likely to negatively affect children. We have no objection to the performance itself and have only conveyed concerns raised by a complainant with us." Jadhav also stressed the importance of preventing any “vulgar language” during the show.
The issue was reportedly sparked by a complaint from Chandigarh-based sociology professor Punditrao Dharenavar, who has previously raised objections to such performances. Authorities confirmed that the organisers were informed that songs with objectionable content would not be permitted and that they have agreed to comply with these instructions.
Earlier Honey Singh announced on Instagram that his sold-out Pune concert has been rescheduled to April 18 due to expected rain and thunderstorms: "Fans!!! Despite being completely sold out for Saturday (04.04.2026), we have to reschedule the show to 18.04.2026."
He emphasized safety as the priority: "The decision to postpone has been taken keeping in mind the advice given by the government authorities…" and confirmed, "All the tickets that have been bought earlier will still remain valid for the newly scheduled date (18.04.2026).
