Pune, 25 April 2026: Two police personnel attached to Sahakarnagar Police Station in Pune have been suspended for allegedly accepting money from a person involved in illegal activities. The action was taken by Deputy Commissioner of Police Milind Mohite following a preliminary inquiry.

The suspended officials have been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Bapusaheb Kisanrao Khutwad and Police Constable Amol Prakash Pawar. Both were part of the station’s investigation team at the time of the incident.

According to police officials, a video that surfaced on social media in March showed the two personnel allegedly taking money from an illegal operator, identified as Abhijit Maruti Gaikwad, a resident of Parvati Darshan. The footage raised serious concerns about their conduct and possible links with illegal activities.

Authorities stated that their actions were in violation of police discipline and standards. The viral video also led to public criticism and concerns over the image of the police force. Taking note of the situation, DCP Mohite ordered their suspension pending further investigation.
