Pune Rain Likely to Intensify Over Next 2–3 Days, IMD Forecasts Thunderstorms

After days of light showers, the India Meteorological Department predicts increased rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning across Pune.

Pune, 30th June 2026: After witnessing only light showers over the past few days, Pune is likely to receive more widespread rainfall over the next two to three days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain activity is expected to intensify, bringing thunderstorms and lightning to the city and surrounding areas.

On Monday, Pune recorded a slight dip in temperature, with the maximum settling at 32°C and the minimum at 23.6°C. The city remained cloudy through the day, while a few areas experienced light rain during the evening.

The IMD has forecast a noticeable change in weather conditions over the coming days, with increased cloud cover leading to a drop in both maximum and minimum temperatures. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected across Pune and nearby areas.

For today, the weather department has predicted a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum of 24°C. The sky is expected to remain mostly clear in the morning before turning partly cloudy during the afternoon and evening, creating favourable conditions for light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning.
