Pune, 27 February 2026: City recorded a maximum temperature of 33.3°C in Shivajinagar on Thursday, which is close to normal for this time of the year. However, temperatures are expected to rise further in the coming days, signalling the gradual arrival of summer.

Pune also experienced a slight drop in night temperatures. Shivajinagar recorded a minimum of 14.6°C, the lowest in recent days, while NDA was cooler at 12.1°C, indicating a gradual fall in minimum temperatures across parts of the city.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that minimum temperatures will remain around 15°C until March 1, after which they are likely to increase. Meteorologists said the dip in night temperatures is due to clearer skies and dry northwesterly winds following a weak western disturbance.

“This cooling spell will be short-lived and is likely to be the last phase of relatively cooler nights. After this weekend, both minimum and maximum temperatures will gradually rise, and summer-like conditions will begin to set in,” weather experts said.

With daytime heat increasing and the final spell of cool nights underway, summer is now at the doorstep of Pune.
