Pune: Social media influencer Sameer Manish Gaikwad (22) ended his life on Sunday (February 21) evening at his residence. Sameer had a lot of followers on social networking platforms like Instagram and TikTok. He was studying in Wadia College.

Sameer lived at the MiCasaa Society in Wagholi. He was found dead at his residence on Sunday evening at around 5pm. He was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment, but was declared dead upon arrival by the doctors. Sameer's cousin Prafull Rohidas Gaikwad reported the incident to Lonikand police. No suicide note was found at the flat, said police officials.

The youth was popular on short video platforms like Instagram and TikTok. He was also popular as a blogger. His followers paid tribute to him by sharing status messages on their accounts. Lonikand police said they will be recording statements of family members and his acquaintances soon regarding the incident.
