Earlier priced at ₹111.68 per litre, Speed petrol now costs ₹113.77 per litre. This hike is expected to impact users of high-end vehicles the most, as they are the primary consumers of such fuel.

According to Ali Daruwala, a core committee member of the All India Petrol Dealers Association, fluctuations in global crude oil prices, inflation, and rising transportation and processing costs are key factors influencing fuel price revisions.

The use of Speed petrol in Pune remains limited, but the increase may further discourage its consumption. Some vehicle owners are already considering switching to regular petrol to manage expenses.

The hike could also encourage people to opt for carpooling, public transport, or alternative energy options to reduce fuel costs.
