Pune students to stage plays in Germany

Pune: Theatre Group 001, an informal group of teachers and students of German in Pune, has been invited to Flensburg, Germany to present two performances of a play in German language called ‘Fluchtpunkte’ in the international conference of the Society for Inter-cultural German Studies from September 8 to 15.  

The play showcases various aspects of the migrants, of being uprooted, of running away from oneself, from responsibilities and life and finally, the relation between escaping and being.

These students and teachers will also present papers in the conference. The group has been invited to attend a seminar on ‘Reading skill’ organised by Munich University. In Munich, the group  will present two shows, one in the cultural centre Mohrvilla and one in the prestigious ‘Volkstheater’ in Munich.

The concept and direction is of Manjiri Paranjape. The participants are Nikhil Gadgil, Sonal Atre, Shama Khare, Geetanjali Kanade, Prasad Patki, Sneha Mahajan, Saee Kulkarni, Parag Velankar, Nupur Khisty, Apoorva Advant, Gauri Dindore, Mrunal Shevade, Neeraja Ingale, Radhika Marathe, Pranav Thomre, Maithilee Dekhane, Aditi Parkhe and Aboli Patwardhan.
