In the first case, a 69-year-old trader from Shukrawar Peth was conned out of ₹23.43 lakh. He received messages on his mobile promising high returns on stock market investments. The fraudsters sent fake investment links and gradually collected money from him in installments. A case has been registered at Khadak Police Station, and Inspector Manojkumar Londhe is investigating.

In another case, a 33-year-old man from Ambegaon fell victim to an online job scam. He was approached through WhatsApp, where a link to a Telegram group was shared with promises of “earning money from home by completing simple tasks.” Trusting the scheme, he invested ₹21.52 lakh over 15 days.

However, he neither received any returns nor got back his invested amount. Ambegaon Police Station has registered the complaint, and Sub-Inspector Prashant Mane is handling the investigation.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious and avoid clicking on unknown links or sharing personal financial details online.
