The water supply department had earlier announced a complete shutdown for the day to carry out urgent electrical, pumping, and civil maintenance work at various water centers and pumping stations across the city. The move was expected to disrupt supply citywide.

However, the decision was reversed following a strike call by tanker operators, who are protesting against strict action by traffic police over recent tanker-related accidents. With many areas dependent on tanker water, the civic body decided to avoid compounding the situation.

An official from the civic administration said, “The scheduled maintenance work has been postponed, and water supply will continue as usual across the city.”
