Pune, 30th June 2026: Several parts of the city will experience a day-long water supply disruption on Thursday, July 2, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertakes repair work on a leaking 1,200-mm diameter main water pipeline near Parvati HLR Gol Talkies.
The civic body said water supply will be restored on Friday morning, but residents may initially receive water at low pressure and after some delay.
According to the PMC Water Supply Department, the repair work will also cover the main pipelines connected to the Cemetery Tank, Vivekwadi Tank, Taljai Tank, and the pipeline supplying water to the Upper Indiranagar Pumping Station.
To carry out the work safely, water supply from the Parvati Pumping Station will remain completely suspended throughout Thursday.
The civic administration has urged residents in the affected localities to store adequate water in advance and use it carefully until regular supply resumes. Officials said the shutdown is necessary to complete the repair work and ensure uninterrupted water supply in the future.
Areas that will be affected include Sahakarnagar, Parvati, Vivekwadi, Taljai, parts of Dhankawadi, Maharshinagar, Gangadham, Chintamaninagar, Shivdarshan Nagar, Upper and Lower Indiranagar, Premnagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Dole Mala, Parvati Gaothan, Gulab Nagar, Rajratna Baug, Punyai Nagar, Kashinath Patil Nagar, State Bank Nagar, Om Abhishek, Vasudev Society, Damodar Nagar, Vidyasagar Society, Aranyeshwar, Navmitra Society, Kothari Block, Vasant Baug, Aai Mata Mandir area, Ganganagar, Gajanan Galli, and Market Yard, along with nearby localities.
The PMC has advised residents in these areas to make necessary arrangements before Thursday's shutdown, as normal water supply will take time to stabilize after the repairs are completed. The civic body expects supply conditions to return to normal later on Friday.
