As of August 20, Shivajinagar has received only 69.7 mm rainfall. Based on the current IMD forecast, Pune is unlikely to reach the 100 mm mark this August, unless rainfall activity increases later in the month.

Pune has received only light rainfall over the past four days, with cloudy conditions alternating with short periods of sunshine.

In the last 24 hours, rainfall recorded at major locations was:

  • Shivajinagar: 1 mm

  • Pashan: 0.8 mm

  • Pune Airport: 1.8 mm

  • NDA: 1.5 mm

The IMD has forecast no heavy rainfall for Pune city or the surrounding ghats on August 20, suggesting that significant rainfall is unlikely in the immediate future.

Despite the weak rainfall in August, Pune has received 657.5 mm of rain since June 1, with the bulk of the rainfall recorded in July.

The sharp contrast between July and August highlights the uneven nature of this year’s monsoon in Pune. After several intense spells and record rainfall in July, the city is now experiencing a relatively subdued phase of the monsoon.
