Pune, 19th June 2026: Wait for the arrival of monsoon rain continues, with the city remaining largely dry despite June being halfway over. While cloudy conditions have been observed over the past several days, they have failed to bring any significant rainfall.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is little chance of rain in the city over the next three days.
The city witnessed partly cloudy skies on Thursday, with clouds gathering intermittently throughout the day. Although weather conditions appeared favourable for rain at times, strong sunshine during the afternoon increased discomfort and humidity levels. Clouds returned in the evening, but no showers were recorded.
Pune recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C and a minimum temperature of 24.2°C on Thursday. Weather officials expect similar conditions to continue, with hot and humid weather likely to persist over the coming days.
On Friday, temperatures are expected to remain stable, with the maximum likely to touch 37°C and the minimum around 24°C. The sky is expected to remain mostly clear, turning partly cloudy during the afternoon and evening.
From Saturday onwards, a slight drop in daytime temperatures is expected. The maximum temperature may fall to around 35°C, while the minimum is likely to remain at 24°C.
Although the IMD has indicated the possibility of light rain from Saturday, no widespread or significant rainfall is expected immediately, meaning Punekars may have to wait a little longer for the monsoon to make its presence felt.
