Weather Update: Pune to Get Gradual Relief from Cold Wave as Temperatures on Rise

Pune, 19 December 2025: After nearly two weeks of chilly mornings and cold nights, Pune is set to get gradual relief from the winter cold starting today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a rise of 2–3°C in minimum temperatures over the next few days, indicating that the cold wave affecting large parts of Maharashtra is beginning to weaken.

On Thursday, Pune recorded a minimum temperature of 10.4°C, among the colder nights of this winter. Weather experts say night temperatures are now showing a steady upward trend, suggesting that the harshest phase of the cold spell is coming to an end.

Hazy Mornings, Comfortable Days Ahead

While mornings are expected to remain hazy for the next few days, daytime temperatures are likely to stay stable between 29°C and 30°C. Skies are expected to clear gradually from the weekend, with no weather warnings in place, bringing pleasant conditions during the day despite the early-morning chill.

Coldest Early December in a Decade

This December has been unusually cold for Pune, with the city recording eight days of single-digit minimum temperatures. According to weather data, Pune has experienced its coldest first half of December in the last ten years, making this winter spell one of the most notable in recent times.
