Pune: Woman Killed After Speeding Tanker Hits Two-Wheeler in Hadapsar

Husband injured in the accident; Police have arrested the tanker driver and registered a case for rash and negligent driving.

Pune, 22nd June 2026: A 27-year-old woman lost her life after a speeding water tanker hit the two-wheeler she was travelling on with her husband in Hadapsar on Friday evening. The accident took place near the Sayyednagar Railway Underpass on June 20.

The deceased has been identified as Neha Sumit Upadhye, a resident of Mohammadwadi. Her husband, Sumit Upadhye, who was riding the two-wheeler, sustained injuries to both his hands in the accident.

According to police, the couple was travelling towards Satavnagar when the tanker allegedly rammed their vehicle. The impact threw Neha onto the road, and she was run over by the tanker, resulting in fatal injuries.

Following the incident, police arrested the tanker driver, Rameshwar Devidas Yamgir, a resident of Mohammadwadi originally from Parbhani district. A case has been registered against him for rash and negligent driving.

The investigation is being carried out by Kalepadal Police.
