Renovated Ramkrishna More auditorium will be reopened tomorrow

PIMPRI: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) Ramkrishna More Auditorium in Chinchwad, which was closed for renovation, will be reopened on Sunday, November 4, with Diwali special cultural programmes.

The civic body had closed the auditorium since May 1, this year, to undertake major maintenance and renovation work.The renovated auditorium has special arrangement for rehearsals and a bigger VIP section.

The civic body has also introduced sophisticated electrical and other facilities in the auditorium as well as in the balconies. Major changes have been made in the seating arrangement. New murals have also been installed on the auditorium’s facade.

The municipal corporation had sanctioned Rs 18 crore towards engineering and electrical works for the auditorium’s renovation.

PCMC’s Joint City Engineer Pravin Tupe said that renovation has been completed and the auditorium will be reopened with Diwali special cultural programmes, commencing early morning on the first day of Diwali on November 4.

PCMC has three other auditoriums, Natsamrat Nilu Phule auditorium in Sangvi, Ankushrao Landge auditorium in Bhosari and Acharya PK Atre auditorium in Sant Tukaramnagar.

Of these, Atre Auditorium has also been closed since May 1 for renovation.
