Sakal Newspaper Becomes Most Widely Read in Maharashtra, Ranked Among India’s Top 10 Newspapers

Backed by data from the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), Sakal continues to lead in readership across Maharashtra, recording the highest circulation in the state from January to June 2025.

Pune, 11 September 2025: 'Sakal' has maintained its top position in the state in terms of circulation due to its reliable news reporting and useful information on various topics keeping in mind the interests of its readers. 'Sakal' has also made it to the list of top ten newspapers with the highest circulation in the country.

According to a report published by the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), the average dai circulation of 'Sakal' during the period January to June 2025 is 11,42,574, leaving rival newspapers like 'Lokmat', 'Loksatta' and 'Pudhari' far behind.

The ABC report has revealed that 'Sakal' had the highest circulation among Marathi newspapers during the period from January to June 2025. Considering the increasing popularity of digital media in the past few years, there was a possibility of an impact on the circulation of newspapers that are print media.

However, the Marathi readership has maintained its faith in 'Sakal', earning this daily the title of 'Most Circulated Marathi Newspaper'. 'Sakal' has a strong distribution network in both urban and rural areas, and 'Sakal' has maintained its leading position due to the balanced use of digital and print media and reliable reporting on local news.

Keeping in mind the interests of the readers, 'Sakal' publishes a supplement every day. These supplements cover various topics focusing on health, women, youth, students, and entrepreneurs, while other supplements, including 'Saptarang', cover topics such as literature, politics, international affairs, and entertainment.
