Pune: Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar was visited by Maharashtra minister Dilip Walse Patil at his Modi Baug residence in Pune on Tuesday.

The meeting comes as several ministers from the Maharashtra Cabinet have arrived in Pune to attend the engagement ceremony of Parth Pawar and Kainat Dara.

The visit has drawn attention amid ongoing political speculation over a possible reunification of the two factions of the Nationalist Congress Party. Discussions over a potential merger between the groups have intensified in recent weeks.

There is also speculation in political circles that the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) faction could join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), although there has been no official confirmation from the party or its leaders.
